Conventional x-rays are still the most frequently used imaging processes for diagnostics of bones, joints and lungs.
Technically they are based on a varying degree of x-rays through different tissues. The digital x-ray machine used in our clinic is computer-assisted and therefore it allows considerable savings of x-rays compared to the former used analogue film technology.
Conventional x-ray images of bones and joints are of great importance for the detection and classification of after-effects, deteriorative illnesses, inflammations and tumors. In addition they serve to assess sensitive determination of vascular calcification. Even besides the modern slice image methods MRI and CT the conventional x-ray image is frequently essential.
